Goddu Louis Born St. Demace Canada Oct.1 1837 Son of Augustine And Esther (DeLorge) Goddu.
At 16yrs old moved to Lynn Ma.In 1858 return to Montreal Canada worked in shoe factory and in 1866 returned to Ma. To exploit new inventions that were made in Canada.Invented over 200 devices mainly in shoe machinery.He revolutionized the art of making shoes.
For several years he devoted his time to developing an electrical instrument to operate by the power of the mind even at any disatance with out wires producing notes and syllables through mental power only.
Goddu married in Montrial Canada in 1860 to Rosanna Roy Daughter of Jacque Roy and has four sons and three daughters living.

Goddu Louis (Oct. 1 1837 to June 18 1919)

Inventor was born in St. Cesaire Canada The son of Henry A and Esther (Delorge) Goddu, Both of whom were french Canadians.His youth was spent on his fathers farm,he attended district schools near home until 12yrs old.In 1850 was sent to Montreal Canada engaged him as an apprentice in a machine shop.He remained there for 8 yrs. He also learned the shoe making trade.Left Canada for North Hampton Ma.U.S.A. in research of opportunity. Spent 4 yrs. at North Hampton (Employed).Interest grew in machinery there. During the civil war he developed and pattended machinery for pegging and stiching shoes. In 1865 he moved to Lowell Ma.became intimate with Gordon Mckay,worked for Mckay for 6 yrs. Then went to Winchester Ma. (Spent rest of his life their)First machine patten was in 1876,Then pattened over 300 , 137 of which were shoe machinery. He received one gold medal at Worlds Columbian Exposition at Chicago in 1893,was made life member of the mechanics charitable association.
At one time was park commissioner of Winchester Ma.
In 1860 married Rossanna Roy in Montreal Canada she was a native of that city.
Goddu died in Winchester Ma left four sons and three daughters.
